Increasing voltage on 8800gt, software. Question.

Thread Starter
I recently bought an 8800GT EVGA superclocked edition. It's running great, and i've overclocked it to 718 core, 1013 memory, and 1833 shader. I'm pretty happy with it right here, I've got the fan at 100%, and the temps are at a relatively cool 60 degrees at full load for an hour.

Recently, though, I heard of a possible way of increasing the voltage on the card by .05v, from 1.05 to 1.1, without a physical volt mod. I've seen ways to do this by using a bootable floppy, but I don't have a floppy drive in my computer.

So, does anybody know a way to do it without one? Also, is it worth it? Will the extra .05v allow me much more? Because if it's a puny 20mhz more, I don't think i'll do it. And, as a final question, how much will my temps rise? I'm not really willing to buy an aftermarket cooler for this thing, so it has to be able to be handled by the stock cooler.

Thanks very much!

im not sure, but i think that nvFlash can be used from a USB stick aswell?
so then just use NiBiTor to edit the bios, and then use nvFlash to flash it.. ..

and yes.. you can use bios changes to change the voltages on the 8800GT (g92)

I don't have time to get instructions of how to, but flashing the bios to 1.1v is an easy way to get higher clocks. Google "Bios mod 8800GT" or whatever video card you have. See what comes up

yeah, actualy all you need to do is to open the bios in nibitor, go to voltages tab, and change the voltages, and then just save and use nvflash to flash the customized bios
