At stock Under 50.

50-60C sounds good to me.

those stock coolers are terrible though. not recommended at all. not even sure why they even come bundled with the cpu. i would seriously get a TUniq Tower or a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme cpu cooler, as these 2 are the top air coolers on the market. and if you are doing a lot of Prime testing these would work out perfectly. With my E6750 and TRUE120 i never go above 45C even at load temps running Orthos.

Would an E6750 on an ASUS P5N-E SLI at 57 degrees cause a crash/restart?

Definitely reseat. The push pins are picky and it is sometimes difficult to get a good mount. At stock you should be getting around 45-55c load.

Also, look up tutorials for applying thermal paste.

yeah the stock ones cool fine for stock speeds, but the damn pins are so stupid, they can be locked in tight and it still wont be seated correctly. take off the heatsink and check the thermal paste stuff it comes with, see if it was smushed
