Supreme Commander: FA Skirmish slowdown

Hi all.

Ive been playing SP:FA (i also own SC) for a while now but a single player skirmish problem has seriously started to irritate me.

as the game progresses and more units come into the play, the game gradually slows down - like as if adjusting game speed (NOT framerate), this is a seriously bad thing as it turns what would normally be an hour long game into 4 hours or more. its rediculous.

also, when i look at the games timer in the top right of the screen, one second can take three real-time seconds or more.

perhaps SP:FA is just poorly optimized for quads (and yes, i'm running this on Umbra, please check sig) and there is no fix...but if someone can help me out it would be appreciated..i just cannot play single player skirmishes with this serious issue.

+ Rep to those who help. thanks alot .

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

Lol, my friend and I had the same issue, it was some what that I was a little unstable, and also because I was running out of RAM.

Lower your settings a little and every once and a while alt-tab out and check the RAM usage.

thanks for the responses.

I noticed that while playing SC:FA while having the CPU monitor (in vista) on, CPU usage is not always at 100%. so i presume its a problem with the game itself....bad optimization.

Ya probably some sort of memory leak or something.
