well got it running 3.6ghz at the moment with orthos while im out lets see if i come back to a flashing red light or not lol.

Question. when should i start playing with the n/b volatges as im new to the over clocking game. so im just starting out slowly. was going to call 1.3v cpu as a cut off point then start playing with other settings

If I was rebuilding this system I probably would buy an e8200, just since any system can handle the FSB to get an e8200 past 3 Ghz now... unless you're really looking for a bleeding edge overclock then the e8200 is probably just as good. Of course, you couldn't buy one yet when I built my system.

If they'd cut the prices a little more the e6600 and q6600 are still good parts too. Wolfdales have teething issues with temp sensors. I THINK mine is reading correctly, but it seems to run very hot.

It's running hot at stock? That shouldn't be.

What else I do is grab the heat pipes on my cooler. If they're hot the CPU is hot. lol

at a stable 3.6 now how cool is that. im going to go for a bit higher later and see what i can get. i think 4ghz might be in reach with this little guy. 1.25volts. 40c on load. and only a little on the n/b upped. everything so far is quite cool.

Lol that's what I get for trying to post something when my wife is bugging me.

I meant Wolfdale, and the E6300 comparison wasn't about specs but about performance. The E6300 is pretty much the junk of the E6xxx series, as the E8200 seems to be with the E8xxx series.
