Getting 6200's to cooperate with an 8800U

Okay I'm a really rather heavy multi-tasker, as well as a pretty heavy gamer.. my current system setup is an 8800 Ultra OC'd, connected to a 28" display, but I'm also a fanatic for multiple monitors, and I have two 22" and two 19" I also have connected via 6200 PCI cards. I had read this would work well. Problem is, I can't seem to get the 6200's to work very well. I don't intend to do any gaming or heavy video apps on them at all but, even after installing drivers, they seem stuck in that weird low graphics mode like what it looks like when you first install Windows and have no drivers at all.

I don't want to connect any of them to the 8800 Ultra so it's processing power and memory can be devoted to the main screen for games, but I'd like to be able to get slightly better performance out of the other screens. I also have wondered if it's possible to drag a video or something across monitors connected to different video cards and it still work (Side note I guess, and I don't think it is, but if anyone knows, it's you guys).

Main issue is just getting the drivers for the 6200's to work better, so that I don't get that weird frame-by-frame low res movement and such, if that's possible?

Thanks for taking the time to read

Your problem is trying to get two different Nvidia drivers to coexist. I don't think that will happen. You'll have to run all three cards off the same driver. Or use another brand of video card (and hence different driver) for the "minor" monitors.
In Properties, Settings do all three monitors show up? What drivers does it say each is using? You can check in Device Manager and Event Viewer to see if you can identify any problems.

And yes, you can drag stuff between monitors no matter what video cards you use. The dragging is a Windows function. Windows tells the video card what to display and Windows lets you put whatever you want where ever you want it.

aye, it would seem they're all using the 8k series drivers.. so my best option would be to get Radeon PCI cards instead? if I did that, what would be an equivolent cheap but functional one.. I really don't know the ATI numbering system

What cards to buy for the other monitors depends on what applications you want to run. For email, net cruising, minor photo editing, MS Office, etc a $10 pci card would be fine. If you don't have an extra PCI slot, the egg has a bunch of dual output PCIe 16x (i .e. dual monitor capable, single cards) for less than $40. It just depends on what applications you want to run. I'm using an MX440 card and a 3FDX Voodoo card and I can run Photoshop CS2 no problem! 2D apps need very little video "horsepower".
