this cant be right for 4-250GB HDD's in RAID0

64 KB stripe size

Why 64KB?? I went for 128KB today when I formatted and installed xp x64. I need to get my hdtach scores up....

Unless you are doing video editing and messing with large files all the time 64kb would be a better option for general applications/gaming. Of course 128kb would probably help on the benchmarks though.

Enabling the 'Write Back Cache' in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager really does make a huge difference. I'd think that would run on your mahcine.

Too late now . I have 800gigs of storage, and I won't come near that anytime soon so the efficiency of diskspace that I lost is ok.

It will give you improvement, but also remember, "Write Back Cache" will make it more likely that you will corrupt your data thus losing the raid. If you're in raid 0 this may be something to consider if you have data that you consider important on there.

are those HD's 8 or 16MB cache? cuz if they're 8MB, would that make them slower?
