OCing the 5000 B.E. on the M2N32 SLI Deluxe 590 SLI - Page 2

I only use 1.4V

keep at 16x and raise your htt. I have that board, and pushing the ht past 1200 will actually give you more stability as already mentioned by jameskelsey

TRC 26
trfc 3 (has no 4)
Async latency 8
CPU multi 16x
CPU voltage 1.5
wont run the CPU stress with Gromacs core for more than a minute
with small fft's CPU stress these are the results
AMD Virtualization is ON
Noroton and Zonealarm are running also /// Plz explain exactly what u mean by ht....as u can tell im kinda noob at this...I want to keep the 8 divider if possible /// u also have twice the L2 cache that I do ^^ /// max temp i reached before error was 55C /// Idle: 29c mobo and 32C CPU

Your using to much Vcore i think.

too much is kinda vague bro.....Im really new at this im using 16x and 1.5 despite what CPU-Z sez....

Ok, what is the stock Vcore then¿ How far can you get @ stock Vcore¿

stock multi is 13x and stock vcore is 1.3 but i have it at 1.35 to reach 3.0ghz which is VERY stable

What speed do you want to hit¿

I want to hit 3.2Ghz at that speed the divider defaults to 8 and runs the memory at stock speed....the cheapest part is the CPU 99$ at newegg. According to this article:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/...t_overclocker/

...I should be able to hit 3.2Ghz at 1.4 volts with ONLY a 16x multiplier and 1.4v
with these James settings: 2T...trc=26...trfc=3 and Async latency=8....16x multiplier and 1.5vcore...............I lasted ~15mins running Orthos CPU stress small FFT's....the results are shown in reply #13 above.

Im on a fixed income..I can afford to replace the CPU.....ONLY
On top of that....this BIOS has more settings than an engineer could want....which leaves me totally confused. For example: should I have AMD virtualization, enabled?
The mobo manual doesnt explain what it is or what it does. I do have all the case fans and the CPU fan running full speed.

My theory is that, since I DON'T know what I'm doing...I'd like to leave the FSB alone so I don't have to worry about another whole screen of BIOS settings....like NB>SB etc which I understand even less. My last system was an A7N8X deluxe rev. 2 w/2800+ CPU....and the BIOS was a LOT simpler. I know this is NOT the WAY to OC but if i damage the mobo I'm gonna be w/o a comp for a month or so. I know even less about how altering the FSB affects the other motherboard components than I do about the CPU multi and vcore.

At 3.2Ghz the divider defaults to 8 and runs the RAM at stock speed, as well as all the other motherboard chips, busses etc.

The main problem I'm having is this damn motherboard manual..it doesn't EXPLAIN what the settings do....it just shows me the ranges they can run at.

I'm willing to call any1 with a similar motherboard and CPU and have them walk me through it, or have them send me a BIOS profile of this exact mobo and CPU set to 3.2ghz on AIR with only the multiplier and vcore altered. I know this seems like I'm lazy and don't want to do research....not true....I'm on every OCing forum I can find...so far this one seems the best. I still cant figure out how THG did it at 1.4 vcore and 16x multi w/o changing anything else. They didn't SAY what mobo they used just showed part of a picture...it looks identical but who knows.....

On other forums, I've read 17,000 different OC's with "similar motherboards and even the same motherboard....and don't even get me started on the 4-6 different BIOS for this mobo, that every1 disagrees on which is the best...I picked the 1603 coz thats what THG used.

Altho it failed the CPU stress with small FFT's in Orthos..it otherwise ran fine...but currently I'm not playing any games that will really stress the system either :/

try 15.5*207 @3.5Vcore, and 4xHT

ram at 800
