and I just found a trial version of Everest that reports accurate CPU temps so....back to my original question...I shud be able to get 3.2ghz on this CPU with ONLY CPU multi and CPU voltage...when I use the exact setting from the article on Tom's Hardware guide...I don't get the same results. ?
Getting upset gets you know where I see many have tried to help you on here yet you do not listen. Some chips cant reach levels well the ones you want and they really wont reach them if you leave all other setting at stock. Show a list of your advance settings voltages whatever you dont understand and I will let you know what you should try.

I see you pushed the CPU to 1.50V which it does not need that at all its your mother board that is lacking voltages to keep you stable. Dumping more volts into the CPU will get it fried thats it. The motherboard will not fry out with a few more volts if it does then you have a crap motherboard they are able to reach higher voltages with out a flaw or the settings wouldnt be there.

What voltage increases would you suggest on on of these mobos?

ok I am NOT flashing the BIOS...its staying at 1603..matter of fact the have just released 1701 this February. Anyways...I have a perfectly good OC right now...without all that fuss. I think we are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole here. There is no reason to flash to an earlier BIOS...any1 who buys this board today will GET the 1603 BIOS....refusing to learn the new BIOS is just silly
For example FATAL...there are only RAM and CPU voltage adjustments in this BIOS...1 each...James knows this already he has DL'd the mobo manual for this board. Further, I've seen you on other OCing forums and ur a d*** there too so laters.

James, I know in the past..altering settings from within Windows is/was foolish..this is NOT the case with AI boost..it actually works as advertised. Here is screen of AI Boost as it is set now:

Those settings we tried other day booted fine but wouldn't pass even a minute of stress test..BUT I think you are on the right track

I'm wondering if we should be using AI Boost as it allows CPU freq/voltage and RAM freq/voltage adjusts w/o all the reboots. In other words, I'm suggesting we meld your methods and the use of AI Boost...if thats even possible. For example set RAM timings etc in BIOS to w/e you think best...then use AI Boost to do the final tweaks from within Windows...the ONLY down side I can see is that CPU-Z will not report the changes until I reboot, although AI Boost will. Let me know what you think about this. I'm not leaving you out either Spear, feel free to sound off...out of the 5 OCing forums I've posted at you two seem to me to be the most knowledgable. As for you Fatal....sigh!

Currently CPU freq is at 200mhz (auto) and Ram Voltage is at 1.8v (auto) with RAM timings back at 5-5-5-23 / 2T I believe. Stock CPU multi is 15x and stock CPU voltage is 1.35v.

since uve been sleeping ive been playing around with the BIOS...tried a few diff things....no joy!

for example i tried 214 CPU freq, 15x multi, up to 1.475vcore, UR memory settings, HT at 4x and at 3x etc
havent tried the cpu<>NB volts or any of those settings yet.

No BSOD's but not more than a minute or so on OCCT before eh..eh..eh lol
I HATE when OCCT laughs at me lol

maybe I/we should try Spears settings in his top link?
15.5x207 and ur memory settings?

I found some HT voltage suggestions from another forum any ideas on these James?

CPU Core Voltage 1.45V <<<<,stock 1.40V
-DDR2 Voltage 2.1V <<<<<< need for ram
-NB 1.2v Voltage 1.30V <<<<< stock is 1.20V
-NB PCIE 1.2v Voltage 1.25V <<<<<< stock is 1.20V
-SB 1.5v Voltage 1.50V <<<<<<<< stock
-HyperTransport Voltage 1.25V <<<<< stock is 1.20V
-DDR2 Reference Voltage +20 <<<<< need for ram

Ok heres what MY BIOS has under Advanced Voltage Control...

CPU Vcore Offset................(Disabled)
DDR2 Termination Voltage.....(0.5 x DDR2 Voltage) can be set to 0.6 also
CPU to NB HT Voltage..........(auto) range 1.2 to 1.5
NB to SB HT Voltage............(auto) range 1.3 to 1.5
NB Core/PCI-E Voltage.........(auto) range 1.2 to 1.4
SB Core/PCI-E Voltage.........(auto) range 1.5 to 1.75
SB Standby Core Voltage......(1.50v) range 1.5 to 1.7

Current/default settings are in parenthensis.

i did they dont work...or rather they dont ...help
if u notice...once again they dont match whats in MY BIOS
and i hate guessing

I been looking at ur setting in the top screen shot...what is ur vcore and what are the memory settings that dont show...aka auto, 1T, 2T and whats are your Advanced memory settings, or what voltage u running your memory at etc?

I have one question. When your testing all of these oc's where is the ram running at¿ Are you running dual mode with a duel kit¿
