But will the Tuniq Tower fit on the abit IP35-E? I'm asking for both of us, actually!

Edit: Does the IP35V support PCI Express 2.0 x16?

Also, grumpyMutant, please be very careful if you use Google Shopping to do bargain hunting. I've been considering buying the 690 from MTNStore.com because they sell it for $67.99, and their lowest shipping cost is $8. But Provantage has a higher shipping cost.

For some reason, I just now noticed the seller rating that MTNStore has. 17 people rated it, and there is 1 star out of 5. I read like 8-10 of those reviews, and most of them never received their item, and were completely ignored by the company. But there are 1,428 seller ratings, and they have 4 out of 5 stars.

The only problem with Provantage is that this particular item is a "special order", and so it's not returnable. That's kinda risky. I'm glad I still have a month to shop.

I just found the Cooler Master 690 for $79.99 at ChiefValue.com, and they have $9.99 shipping. It's "UPS Guaranteed 3 Day Service". That's $89.98! That's the best deal I've found so far!

ChiefValue has 1,011 seller ratings, and 4½ stars!

Thread Starter
Lasagna, PCI-E x16 2.0 gear is backwards compatible. I'm 100% certain seeing my wifes Alienware has an 8800gt on nvidia 680i board that specs as pci-e1.0

Thank you everyone for you help. rep+ for all!

Now can anyone help with thinking of how to convince the wife?

I honestly would spend that last $20 and get an evga card just for the lifetime warranty and step-upability but that's just me. Other than that you have a very capable OC'ing gamer rig.

To convince the wife, hermmmmm, well be like Nike, JUST DO IT!1!!!
