1000 Euro build for friend.

We live in the Netherlands so please keep in mind that we have euro's, and you can't just calculate the normal rate because parts are more expensive here.

http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/zoeke...eMax=5&x=0&y=0 here you can type the product name at "zoeken" for the dutch price.

So it'll be a game build with a bit overclocking, nothing extreme because he isn't really into that, maybe i'll do it a bit for him.

No OS, monitor keyboard or mouse needed.

He's quite cerntain about the following and i agree, but advice is always handy:

CPU e8400 €165
Case Antec 900 €90
GPU 8800gt 512 €185
Cardreader €12
So this is what's left

Mobo:
PSU:
Soundcard:
HDD (min 500gb):
Ram:

Thanks and rep for your time! Any advice welcome.

PS € = alt + 0128 if you don't have it on your keyboard

Hi! I think I would suggest the Q6600. If he is buying this computer to keep for a while I would just go with the Nforce 680-chipset and buy a PSU with a single 12v-rail for future SLI-ability. With that GPU he would manage with approx 6-800 watts for SLI and a Q with a mild OC. I highly reccommend the mobo I have, it is great! Whichever HD will do, imo. 8500-RAM is also a sure thing. Rather have 2 gigs 8500-RAM than 4 gigs 6400 like I have.

The case should be CM690 , better cable management , quitter and same cooling than Antec 900. Also 8800 GT can be hardly lower than 200€ , ( you forgot that it's expensive )

Mobo , hmm , choose one with P35 chipset and ICR9R nortbridge. Asus , abit , dfi , gigabyte are very good companies. For HDD , do not choose matrox. Wester digital or something else should be fine. If he need an sound card , then choose one of X-fi , extreme gamer , I own one.

And Raid 0 is must for gaming computer.

I have more tips , but meh , I guess you don't need them.

maybe computer parts are more expensive in Slovenia, but here you can find them for under 200 easely. http://azerty.nl/producten/product_d...press-x16.html €183 right here, and i'm talking 512.

still not fair though, @ newegg you can get 1 for $190 after rebate. if you calculate that, it should be around €130-140

well my friend is on an exchange project now, he'll be back next week and order the parts, it's gonna be an Abit ip-35e with 2 gigs of pc-8500 ram (thinking ballistix gskill or ocz reaper or maybe team xtreme dark, advice is welcome) 500gb HD (samsung t166 spinpoint or the western digital version, still have to compare them) probably an OCZ stealthextreme 600watt, and a xifi xtreme gamer.

any comments/advice/positive critism on that?

I strongly advise 2 250/320 GB hd's in RAID0 for ANY gamingPC if you are going to aim for approx 500GB.
