Computer science at uni

What would be better for doing a comp sci course at uni?

Buying and using my own laptop for doing everything on.
Keeping this computer and using it with the uni computers.

I would get around £600 from my parents towards it (They paid that much for my sister's lappy, so they agreed to do the same for me), and I could also sell this one one for a few hundred pounds so that I could get a real nice laptop.

Get a really cheap but sturdy laptop that you can take notes on, and also take your computer with you. I usually do CS on my desktop cuz it's a lot faster; notebook processors got nothing on desktop proc's.

btw...CS at oxford?

Nah I'm not that clever. I live in oxford, but I'm going to either leeds or exeter.
That's the thing that's concerned me mainly, is a laptop proc fast enough to do compiling and all of the rest. I'm happy to give up PC gaming (I could still play the odd private wow server), but the processor needs to be good enough.
