hard drive dead!!!

I have a WD 250gig external hd(model # we2500ks), all of a sudden it can't be detected. I think it is dead, so is there a way to retrieve the data from the dead hd? Pls help!!

its not necessarily dead you could have a internal loose connection, have you tired it with another computer?
