I believe that if you install Network Tools off the XP CD, you can have a DHCP server running though it is limited to 5 addresses as far as I know.

Is this true? I only need to setup 2 addresses for a class.

Just enable internet connection sharing & point the 2 other PCs thru the XP machine.

{edit} by the way, it's a wizard that will walk you through the setup.

Okay, I'll pass on giving you help with that lol

There are a couple free apps that will serve the dhcp purpose tho. You'll have to search them out on sourceforge.net.

that's what I'm doing with the on board wireless card. other computers connect and get an IP address from my computer using the internet connection sharing.

though granted it could be something to do with the software that came with the wireless on the mobo but I'm not sure.
