Guys - me and a pal here are working on something.

Question.

Can you flash a motherboard with this chipset and have it support C2D?

(of course, it depends on the bios and all that. but what I want to know is..)

CAN THESE CHIPSETS SUPPORT C2D:?

tell me quick!

thanks.

Only the 865/875/945/and up can support multi core CPUs (according to the Intel R&D Labs). The 915 isnt even capable of more then 1 core.

Of course, the older 478 socket boards have no dual cores to run, but the chipsets are still capable. I think DFI actually released an 875P SKT 775 board.

AWW blast.
So - no flashing for this guy eh?
What I cant.. for the life of me figure out then..

is WHY this board uses DDR2!?

Thanks guys

---edit---

ahh! It would seem that some P4s ago used ddr2.

These boards (used in dells)
used a p4 w HT 530 (3 GHZ) chip.

ack - so dissapointed.
I travelled miles for this hoping I could flash it, and get it to work with a C2D
darn.
