can someone recommend me setting for my q6600?

I am a noob to this, but wanna get the most out of a cpu i paid around 900 for (its only like 300 now...). Anyways i have a q6600 wc'd in its own loop (may add a gpu into the loop later though) in a 680i sli mobo. If it helps my ram is 1gb + 1gb ddr2 5-5-5-15 800. If it may help (i doubt it though) i have a stock 9600 gt. Im idling at around 31, will go up in the summer to around 40 i would guess

You mean for OCing? Theres no way to know, you will need to OC it yourself and figure out the limits as every CPU is different.

Hopefully you got the one and only Evga 680i SLI board that is able to OC quads. Don't even try OCing on other 680i SLI boards, I was very happy with my BFG Tech 680i SLI for my E6600, easy 3.4GHz, but as soon as I put my Q6600, couldn't OC at all, an OC could be stable for hours and then PC could lockup at any given time, at only 2.8GHz!

EDIT: Oh you've got a B3, that's another story, it should work, G0s had problems with most 680i SLI.

just go into your bios and bump up the fsb like 20, then save and exit. if you boot up and have windows running, try to stress test it with prime95. run prime for about 10 to 20 minutes. if you have no errors, then go back into bios and bump it up another 10, test again. if you have no errors then do this again. if you do run accross an error on prime, then bump up your vcore 1 or 2 notches, then save and exit, and test again. once you think you have gotten you highest stable o/c, then run prime for 12 to 24 hours for a complete stability test. then post back. BTW fill in your specs in the user cp on the top of the screen for future questions. KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE TEMPS!

well, i bumped it up from 1066 to 1090, it started to freeze at the bios, and now nothing shows up on the screen. What to do? (i tried taking off the power, disconnecting the power wire, then taking out the battery for about 5 min, and then put everything back in.)

EDIT: i also tried to reset the cmos bios, it didn't work, the board is showing -- all the time and there is no halt on error. Does anyone have any advice?
