1962 - Missed the "Bay of Pigs", but was around for JFK's assassination, (though I obviously don't remember it), saw (and remember) a lot of the Vietnam war coverage on TV during many, many dinners... remember seeing LBJ, Nixon's Win (w t f), and the thrill of watching the first man on the moon! (Hard to top that one!) Reel to reel tapes, cassette's, vinyl... having to actually get up to change any channel on anything (radio, tv,), playing outdoors for hours and hours, sun up till well after dark, (do kids do this anymore?). Nixon's resignation, Ford's brief stint... Carter (w t f?)... 300 baud modems, BBS's, waiting what seemed like hours for download of a text-based game I could play on my TRS-80 (Radio Shack). Ooh CD's! (they're SO small! How'd they get all that music to fit on there?!)

^^Translation: I'm old as a box of rocks! biggrin.gif

I was expecting it to be more in the late 20's and early 30's considering how crazy expensive some of the rigs on here are.
the 18 year olds must be saving months and months just to buy their GTX Titans haha
nothing but a bit of a nudge on the parents wont do tongue.gif
but yea, i convinced my parents building a computer was for "educational purposes"
in my defense, I plan on going to uni to study computer or electrical engineering. (like all the asians) tongue.gif

Doughb62, if you're as old as box of rocks, what is someone 9 years older??  I was born in 1953 when Nixon was Vice Prez:headscratand Ronald Regan was an actor...you could smoke in Theaters, and drink in Drive-Ins...maybe that's how we got Watergate and the lowing of funding to our nation's education...I remember the 60s well:cheers:   I grew up in Berkeley, and graduated from Kent State...the happening 60s:wheee:
