where there's smoke there's fire

Thread Starter
Anyone know what temp sensors cover the northbridge and southbridge chipsets on Gigabyte boards? My 790X-DS4 is pushing close to 90C and I'd like to figure out what the 3rd temp sensor (non-cpu -- shows as power/aux in easytune) is monitoring.

And not exactly - in electronics, there isn't always fire connected with smoke.

hey there,
I have the same motherboard and what i realised that the temp of that power/aux is 84C with me too. I had reset with my pc and i thought it was because of that. Currentle there is no reset problem but when i force my pc with crysis sometimes it resets randomly. this power/aux must be the north bridge cause i cant even touch those part when pc working. I wrote this problem to the Gigabyte and waiting for the answer. I thought my psu is having that temp but i think it is north bridge. I think to have a north bridge cooler and i will see it then if gets this high temp again or not.

If you can solve the matter please let us know here.
Thank you...

Wsail, you don't happen to have a infrared thermometer that you could use to measure the heatsinks temperature just to confirm? What application(s) are reporting 90C?

Good luck

Lluisyast, apparently theahbab double checked his BIOS and the "system temperature" was reporting high 30's. The application he was using was reporting wrong readings. I think it was PC Wizard if I remember correctly.
