X3210 at 2.6 w/ 1.1v

Thread Starter
I have always been an AMD guy, but I am loving this x3210. I need to get another heatsink before I can see what she'll do, but I am at 2.6Ghz with only ~1.1v applied to the core! I know this isnt a huge speed, but the only thing I have done is replaced the stock thermal pad with AS5. Its pretty warm in my office at the moment and my load temps never got over 63C. Here is a screen shot...

That's impressive..

What worries me about these chips is the max reccomended voltage is 1.325 tops or something crazy low like that. If one were to aim for 4.0, it's unlikely getting it because of voltage recommendations.

Mine is spec'd at 1.35V and 85C max.

i dont think thats true... i've got my x3220 @3.2 perfectly stable @ a CPU-Z 1.37...these are basically "cherry-picked" Q6600s...

Plus, the thermal ceiling is a bit higher...

Rep+ for another Xeon addict

Edit: I may stand corrected...have a look at the attached chart...

I tried 2700Mhz and it wouldnt post and went into "safe mode". So I guess this is the max for this voltage- I dont want to up my voltage until I replace the stock (crappy) HS.

You are thinking of the 31 series not the 32 serires. The 3210 3220 3230 are all the same as there Q6600 counterparts. Well the B3 versions are the same but the GO versions got a higher thermal spec.

The 31 series like the 3110 and 3120 are the 45nm process which from my understanding is getting waxed by more then 1.4vcore.
