Whoa Whoa Whoa.
The first thing I do is disable my pagefile and I use Photoshop CS3 daily.

How do you disable superfetch?

I've heard only doing certain things in Photoshop need the pagefile.

Even though Vista Sp1 can "read" that you have 4gb of ram, it can still only utilize 3gb due to its 32bit limitations.

This doesn't count for 64bit vista though.

Anyways, speaking of Vista Sp1, I haven't really noticed anything different/faster. I just completely formatted a few days ago and immediately installed SP1. I haven't noticed any speed/snappiness increase, and I actually even get a lower score in 3dmark06 by a couple hundred points.

Its been explained hundreds of times on why you should never disable the pagefile.

To disable superfetch you just go to run then type services.msc and go down to superfetch.

I disable superfetch because it doesn't help when you already have fast hard drives and 4GB of ram. All it does it grind my hard drives for 15 mins whenever I start windows. With or without super fetch, everything loads instantly for me, and when its disabled I don't get my hard drives grinding constantly.

Wasn't one of the major benefits for switching to Vista because of the superfetch->(readyboost/lots of ram) feature? Why not just use XP then?

I have a question regarding the page file. I have 4 GB ram, and a 4 GB flash stick that I don't use. If I were to use ReadyBoost, would I enable the page file for my primary disk and the flash drive? Or just the primary?

I noticed I am no longer able to disable driver signing in x64. I know there were a few updates that need to be uninstalled in order to do that, but I have SP1 integrated in my install and cannot uninstall those specific updates. Unless someone can help me out on that?

ReadyDriver Plus 1.1. It simulates an F8 press at boot up to disable Driver Signing.
