ah okay.

well they'd never save 50GB to HDD if the main worldwide system has a 40GB HDD.

You need to talk to Joystiq or Engadget or something, because apparently you have played the final version of MGS4.

Maybe games fit on a DVD or CD in the past and way past because it was the LARGEST MEDIUM AVAILABLE? Maybe that's why we had PC games on FIVE CDs? With a larger medium, game developers can put a lot more content onto the disc. You're stuck in the last generation.

Blue Dragon for 360 is on 3 DVDs...that's a minimum of 18GB (obviously more) of data.

Still no proof that the data that makes up this game is uncompressed.

Hard drive installation like we've been saying. And yes, it can hold 50GB, but do you think for a second that the devs are going to make you copy the entire 50GB disc onto the hard drive? No way.

ofcourse not. so as long as the HDD installation isnt too far over 5GB then this shouldnt be a problem for anyone. Like i said in another thread half the problem is kojima being too optimisitc (in a good way) in the way that he wants to make the most out of what preferences he has with the PS3. In this sense, the fact that developers are optimizing games for blu-ray capacity makes the PS3 stand out as the superior next-gen console. Atleast in that sense. This may afterall just be a consequence of including metal gear online + MGS4 on one blu-ray disc.
