How to fold on an X1950PRO 512MB..?

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I had a look around the forum and a brief look through the folding FAQ, but I didn't see anything specific about GPU folding, my apologies if I missed it.

I recently got an X1950Pro 512MB and remembered that these GPUs can fold, so I want to ask how I go about setting up F@H to fold on my GPU as I'd like to give it a try and see how it works out.

If anybody already folds on their GPU and would like to give me a quick run-down on the steps to get it set up, I'd appreciate the effort.

Thanks in advance!

You know, I haven't. I just went straight to OCN for information, as usually everything I could want to know about these kind of things is here .

I'll have a read through. Undoubtedly it explains what I need to do, thanks .

With my sig system, is it better to run the GPU and one core, or run both cores with SMP?

Re: GPU, I can't seem to make it work. The log just repeats this:

[04:37:14] - Error: Bad work unit. Digital signatures don't match
[04:37:14] Error: Could not open work file
[04:37:14]
[04:37:14] Folding@home Core Shutdown: FILE_IO_ERROR
[04:37:19] CoreStatus = 75 (117)
[04:37:19] Error opening or reading from a file.
[04:37:19] Deleting current work unit & continuing...

There may be countless problems, but I think my main ones are Vista x64, and the latest drivers from ATI (8.453.0.0). Should I install the older drivers listed on the FAH site?

The only thing I can suggest is try different drivers.
It would also help to post in the main F@H faq as well.
