Seagate Barracuda 500GB: 7200.10 or 7200.11 if $25 difference?

Thread Starter
Hey guys. Just got my paycheck the other day and I'm looking to spend it towards a new hard drive. Here is the info you need to know.

Circuit City is selling the Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200.10 for $104.99 this weekend. Here is the link to website. Link.
I have a $15 off $100 coupon that I can still use to drop the price to $89.99 before tax, $94.49 after tax in Virginia.

Newegg has the Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200.11 for $119.99 shipped for free, and no tax, so $119.99 is all I pay.

My question is, does the performance of the new Barracuda drives constitute paying $25 more for the same storage space? Also note that if I bought from Circuit City, it's retail, and I can always return it there within 30 days if it fails or is DOA. I hate dealing with RMA, even with a good company like newegg cus it's just more money out of my pocket. So with the information, could you guys steer me in the right direction, or at least give your two cents on which drive is more beneficial for the price? Thanks for your help.

From what I've read and also from personal expirence the .11's are alot fast then the .10's.

But 94.49 is still a great price for 500 gigs. I'f your planning to use it as a backdrive then go for it. Also (not to be offensive) if it's to be used on the rig you have now then it won't even matter that much.

Yes, if you are getting a 500GB drive, get the 7200.11. They use two larger platters instead of 4 smaller ones. Faster and quieter.
