Posting this for a few reasons...

Feedback. Do I have all the parts I need? Will this run okay?

Cooling. What do I need to keep it cool? Do I need anything?

I'd like to overclock the processor to about 3.0.

This might sound stupid, but right now I have a hard time running fraps while I game. The game I play right now I get about 130fps, I turn on fraps, and it drops to 30fps. =/

Any feedback is appreciated. ;/

Edit:

Prices and what not was originally there from me, I just copied and pasted a text document I wrote up a day or two ago. Can ignore that if you wish, I think it adds up to around 910$ or so, including tax, shipping, and MIR. Not a bad deal, I don't think!

Edit2:

Oh, and as far as operating system's go, I was planning on getting Vista Ultimate 64bit... Eh?

I'd grab a E8400 or Q6600 over that E6750. The E8400 can be had for $220 and the Q6600 for about $200-230 here in the for sale section.

Oh, and the FRAPS issue is from the recording. Set it to 60fps and you should have better results.

Everything is great on that rig - you should be good on Air with an Aftermarket cooler.

In regards to FRAPS - the reason it does that is because it records at 30FPS max so it naturally drops the game down to 30FPS so it can record.

64 bit OS is a must for 4gigs of RAM.

I can get my E6750 to 3.4 pretty easily but you really should get an E8400.

Well, I originally wanted to get an e8400, but newegg doesn't seem to have them in stock? Where can I buy one from?

I had never noticed the FPS section on fraps, I'll check it out in a moment!

Assuming I stuck with the e6750, and I only put it to 3.0, do I need any extra cooling. I'm really very newb with the whole cooling thing, up until now I always bought my stuff off a retail shelf... :/

I don't know anything about heatsinks, tuniq, all that stuff everyone talks about. ;/

well i just checked and tank guys is on back order for the e8400 also. as far as the h/s goes, you should probably get a third party h/s if your going to o/c. the stock h/s is alright for stock, but if you want to o/c, like you do, i would get another h/s. even an artic cooling silver pro would be better that stock.

Are you ready for compatibility issues for Vista 64bit? Hey at least you'll be able to see 4gb of ram... I only see 2.75 out of 4.

You may want to check this out... twice the space, twice the cache, and only 33 bucks more. The most bang for your buck hd out there, but it may not be worth it for you if you don't use up a lot of space. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073

If you overclock that cpu, (of course you will, this is ocn right?) you may want to consider a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme aka the 'TRUE'. This place isn't newegg, but they have it cheap, plus theyll lap it for you for a cool 20. Most of em need lapping anyways. http://www.crazypc.com/products/ultr...eme-50983.html

youll also want a 120mm fan to go with that... a 7 blade no nonsense 60 cfm fan at least. most anything with more than 7 blades wont have enough pressure to adequately move air through the heatsink. anything more than 60 cfm may be intrusively loud.

Dont feel bad for switching to intel... I switched too.

What do you mean? :S

I was actually thinking about getting a bigger hard drive. Just a little bit ago(Like, a couple hours) I started to play with video editing and stuff, so it'd probably be a good idea.

Cooling scares me.
Completely clueless.

If you buy a retail boxed cpu, it will come with a stock heatsink/fan. It'll usually do an alright job cooling up until a point. That point depends on how far you will overclock and cooling in your case, so that varies from person to person. If you're looking for an after-market heatsink/fan, I would go with one of the following.

This is a good choice for someone on a budget.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134

These are both the same. The only difference is one has a blue led fan.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...689&name=TUNIQ

Currently, everything from Thermalright is out of stock on newegg. I would recommend a Thermalright Ultra-120.
