Crysis crashing for no reason

Thread Starter
I just installed Crysis and have been playing it fine for a full level. I just got to the part where I FIRST encounter the huge alien that is flying around and go to the next level. As soon as the next level is loaded, the game freezes up and crashes.

I'm on Vista, and using an 8600 GTS(if not in my sig)...

help?

Mine used to crash alot until I realized I didn't have enough power going to my GPU. I only had one molex plugged into the adapter instead of two.

Do you have the latest Crysis patch and video card drivers? The game settings aren't set too high are they?

its not that it crashes at random places...it crashes as soon as i load the SECOND level.

the first level plays fine and doesn't crash at all.

it loads the second level, then freezes up.

and yes, everything is completely updated.

it did the same thing before i updated to 1.1, and its still doing it.

and the game settings are perfect for my card, i'm getting at least 30 fps ALL the time.

Revert to the save game before the most current one and try it.

Alright, got it solved. I guess the game settings were a little too high. I toned them all down and now it runs fine. Thanks for the help guys =D
