Eh. I'll try it out with just the two 6-Pins and if it's not enough I'll get a new PSU or an adapter.

Thanks for the help, +Reps for all of you.

I've been thinking about a sweet QuadFire setup with two 3870X2s and a 30" 2560x1600 screen, but I'm way too poor to buy it all at once. So I just want to get one 3870X2 (and maybe the screen), and not upgrade my PSU or Motherboard yet. Now my current PSU only has two 6-Pin PCIe cables, so I need to find a place that sells one because the 3870X2 that I'm thinking about buying doesn't come with one and I really don't want to spend $260 on a PSU that will work for both 3870X2s (so I don't have to buy another PSU later).

Also, I'm not just going to buy one that comes with an 8-Pin adapter because this one has the least amount of negative reviews and the manufacturer must be doing something right.
You would be better off using this adapter:

1x6pin to 1x8pin preferred to 2x4pin molex to 1x8pin

Thanks for the link, +Rep.

Also, the other adapter was for an 8-Pin motherboard CPU plug, which apparently doesn't work on GPUs.

Good luck. With that much juice you best have a straight-on connection.
