^ Yep.

No problems here.

PS: And the only game I run that dips below a decent frame rate at times is Crysis (at Ultra High). You can't even set it to Ultra High in XP (even with a mod it still isn't the same). It runs great on High in Vista.

I max out all my other games and they're smooth as butter in Vista.

The tests don't lie. My games don't lie. I have had a dual boot now for 6 months. SP1 in vista did absolutely NOTHING. SP3 beta for XP increased performance for every single game I own.. PERIOD. The both boot up about the same, Vista looks more pretty... They both load software up at the same rate. As for it being superior? DX10=BIG JOKE on all of us.

You Vista fan boys can keep trying to blow smoke up our arses and we'll keep laughing about it.

XP may be old, but it works just fine... And imagine this, it runs everything without having to screw around. As for me personally I think they are both POS OS's. Have fun playing at lower frames...

thats it mate u hold on to that glimmer of life left in XP ...

i have great fps in all games ...but hey each to their own .....cant wait till they start bringing those games out which will be DX10 ONLY !!!
sigh....some ppl just will not accept change

I saw exactly the same sort of posts made way back in 2000 when XP was still in beta. Stop whineing about Vista and simply switch to it when you're comfortable.

To conclude I shall leave you all with an appropriate smilie;

If you are going to judge something as superior/inferior, the date it came out is the weakest, most irrelevant, argument possible.

I am positive that Vista is truly better in a lot of peoples eyes. The exact same qualities that cause me to dislike it are godsends for others.

It works both ways though.

With only updates and common tweaks (no n-lited builds, or hacks that would violate the ELUA), I would personally prefer windows 2000 over all other microsoft OSes, then 2003 server, then XP, then XP 64, then Vista 64, then Vista 32 (I've used them all). Every single one of these operating systems will run every single windows progam I would like to use. Clearly I value lightness over integration. Still, I do realise not everyone feels the same way.

Everyone should stop bickering about it. It's getting really old.

Here's another one:

PS: The use of the word suck in the manner of this thread title is generally deemed as vulgar slang. IMO, to keep the forums respectable, it should only be used in it's more respectable forms. In other words: let's keep it clean, fellas.

I was starting to have problems in Vista, so I went back to XP. I figured out that it was a hdd problem, so I switched back to Vista, because I liked it better
post #99 of 125
I think it's funny when people don't like an OS becuase they cannot get to the bottom of their hardware issues....

And to say it works perfect in XP and will do nothing but BSOD in vista than you did not work all the kinks out.. or you just dont care enough to try harder to figure it out.. and are happy with the fact that you cannot figure it out..

Oh, yay. Another personalized "I hate vista" thread.

Why does everyone in the world need to announce their either love or hatred for vista?

So what? How does that make it old? In fact, what's wrong with 2000? What significant advantage does XP have over 2000? They do the exact same thing. The only difference is that XP has more eye candy and it's slightly easier to find things in it.

In my eyes, there isn't much significant difference among 2000, XP, and vista. If my damned floppies would work, I would be using 2000 instead of XP on my gaming computer.
