E6300 won't go past 2.6 GHz - Page 25

Remember that nothing you do is going to max out your temps like prime does. So if you are topping out at 60-65 celcius with prime running for an hour you are fairly decent. I ran my E6400 at 70 celcius for 48 hours once while stress testing with prime and stock air cooling with high voltage. I was trying to cook it in a way.. No dice, it's still going strong and still overclocked with no ill effects. It's about 7 months old...

Using Coretemp as the monitor for temps.

Well I run my cpu at 3.2 24/7 cause the max load is 49 (usually high 30's low 40's)

I had my cpu at 3.6 when I had the zalman 9500 on it and was in the high 50's so I dropped back to 3.2

So, I don't get what you're saying?

Should I drop it a little bit?

Ok, I have two options...

I can run it at 3GHz, with a "High" temp and a fair amount of Vcore and + voltage on RAM and MCH.

or Run it at 2.8GHz with good temp and hardly any voltage increase!

What do you think?

Alright, well, I took it all into consideration and I'm running at 2.8GHz, I really don't think I'll notice the 200MHz difference, and I'm actually undervolting the CPU and it's completely stable!

1.312v

I'm actually undervolting a few things, check the sig!

I'm happy! Thanks a lot for the help!

yeah i'm sure you'd be ok at 3.0, but personally I want my rig to last and decided i'd rather keep everything else at auto and just set my cpu volts to 1.3 and my ram to 2.0 and my temps < 50

Its kind of nice to know if I ever start lagging I have up to 400 mhz to play with and if I need 400 mhz that bad its time for a upgrade.

yea i was able to do 3.2 on my e6300

u gotta set ur volts right

Mine's stable at 2,8 GHz, 1,23 V load. Verry strange... Seems like you cant go further then 2,6... Might be your mainboard which doesn't like it?

EDIT: Geez, didn't see all the other pages... Well, excuse me if I wrote something that's already solved, or something like that.
