yep, componenet is still analog. if your source is digital and your display is digital, using a digital interface would be the logical way to go

yeah dont waste your money buying cables at B&M stores

hdmi is digital so the cable doesen't matter as long as its the right length

the cheapest one at bestbuy, wal-mart, radio-shack etc. is going to be like 30 bucks.. what a gouge

i buy all mine from newegg... i got the hdmi 1.3 one for like 12 bucks... i should have just got the cheapest one though for like 6... oh well

you know ive found that hdmi can have a more digitized picture than component, the major benefit of HDMI despite it being an All in one is that it can support 1080P which no cable or satellite company can provide yet... either way youlle be ok, just make sure you're on component inputs when you watch tv... heh.

component supports 1080p as well, but not many tvs support 1080p over component because at the time, nobody made a tv capable of 1080p

it was a case of the connection being more capable than the source or display at the time

I didn't switch it. At bestbuy they have super expensive hdmi cables...cheapest one I found was 4' rocketfish for 64$. What a rip-off.
