I installed Vista Home Premium 32 bit and SP1 yesterday, and I must say Im wondering what the heck everyone seemed to be biotching about.

Granted I have only been using it for all of about 12 hours, but it's seems to be spot on. All my games run. Plus I get dx10 now.

Maybe someone else will be able to answer why it sucks so bad because I don't see it yet?

I didn't really see the point in DX10 as I could hardly tell the difference between COH DX9 Vs COH DX10 but I lost a lot of FPS and it would take forever to load.

XP is fine for me as I have a custom theme anyway so the GUI wasn't really worth it.
COH isn't a good game for the comparison.

It doesn't suck. It's just hard to justify the upgrade for the heavy price tag.

vista has its quirks, but I like it (even though I went back to XP since I use windows strictly for games and nothing else.)

Windows aero is a nice feature in vista... But it can cause problem in older programs. I program in JBASIC. It's basic enhanced with a GUI and more commands and sometimes it gives errors due to vista. What i would do is have a duo boot with Vista And XP. As for DX10, i saw no or little difference between DX9 and DX10. I might also say that it is MUCH harder to do administrative tasks with vista than with xp. I like the hardware rating system in vista because i do not have to install 3rd party benchmarkers. And a final con about vista... You Can't uninstall I.E

I just reformatted with a fresh x64 and sp1 and I am liking it so far. Cod4 runs fine, thats all I tried so far. Was dual booting xp pro/ vista 32bit before but found myself always installing games on the xp pro partition. Now I'll see how long I can make it without xp. So far vista x64 is great tho. I would see no reason to "have to" upgrade to Vista but it works better than some people think.

I believe that the poll says "Like" and not "prefer"... Way to go "forum director".

BTW. If I really cared, I would let you know that your sig is breaking TOS and that the West Memphis Three killed my next door neighbor. But I would only tell you that if I cared.

OT:
You obviously do not care as you would know that the wm3 are all but exonerated... which will happen soon. Read more and stop denying the truth.

Not OT:
Like... prefer... whats the difference. (It was more of a play or parody of toothpaste commercials i.e., not to be taken seriously) Point is. Noobs attempt to act like most people are so unhappy with it when that just isnt the case as there is no reason to dislike it.

OT:
Way to go "regular forum guy" for micro-analyzing my every word... Waste more time by micro-analyzing this post. And if you have a problem with my sig, let someone know. I wont fault you for that.
