To vote in this poll you have to have used Vista.

Don't know if this has been done but seeing as theres a few threads about Vista and it pretty much turns into a flaming war between lovers and haters of vista.

Dislike Vista, for the same legitimate reasons, I disliked XP untill I could get a stripped down copy. Too much useless junk, not much more utility or substance.

I got along fine with Windows 2000 SP4 till june 2007; XP will probably last me till Windows 7.

There are currently zero compelling reasons, for me to sidegrade/downgrade/upgrade to Vista.

I believe the majority of crap about Vista is from idiots or people who have made up their mind before trying it.

I gave it 2 months, 1 when it was released back in Jan 07 and another month in October. I found it to be slower at booting and general application booting, BF2 had poor performance compared to XP and took twice as long to load a map. I didn't really see the point in DX10 as I could hardly tell the difference between COH DX9 Vs COH DX10 but I lost a lot of FPS and it would take forever to load.

XP is fine for me as I have a custom theme anyway so the GUI wasn't really worth it.

Like I said, I found the majority to be one of those two things. Like anything else there is exceptions.

It appears that you have given it a chance and formed your own conclusion. Which is exactly what most Vista-Haters refuse to do, and instead just bash it with absolutely no basis.

I followed it through the betas as well RC1 and RC2 but found vista had very little going for it apart from DX10.

Just my opinion, I'm sure as hardware gets faster you won't be able to notice the performance difference between Vista and XP.

It's not about liking it or disliking it... As I'm indifferent, Vista in no way shape or form boosts productivity/efficiency, nor does it hurt productivity/efficiency(When compared to using various apps in XP).

A more appropriate poll would have been,

A) Prefer Vista (DX10 + Aero + SuperFetch =
)
B) Prefer XP (DX10 + Aero + Superfetch = :turd:
C) Indifferent, Vista doesn't boost/or hurt performance, but I have numerous XP CD keys
D) Indifferent, Vista doesn't boost/or hurt performance, but I can get it for the same price as XP
E) Prefer Vista, but I'm poor and will recycle existing XP CD keys
F) Prefer XP, I'm paranoid and Vista phones home autoupdates to much for my taste.
G) ECT
H) ECT

^There are numerous reasons, and like/dislike doesn't adequately portray them...

i used vista for three months on my lappy with an intel M processor at like 2.3g IIRC

it ripped through vista especially the install and now when i try to install on my sig machine i can leave the install run for 4 hours and it gets no where. Plus i would have to buy another key so it's XP right now.

As for when i used vista. I found it to be nice but a steeper learning curve for those older or just used to older os's. I am a cs major in college so i dabble in just about everything out there.

Vista did not boost my performance especially during gameplay. However; i only play starcraft warcraft 3 etc. NOT WoW :turd::turd:

so on vista i don't see it worth wasting the money for a new key when i have XP running well with now conflicts with citrix software i download for remote logon with my internship. As it crashed my vista while i had it on my lappy. (lappy went to my mom and she wanted XP back on and I lost the cd key for vista after it was uninstalled)

so for now no vista for me. Give it maybe 6-8 months and i might try it again

EDIT: BTW You need a neutral catagory in your post between like and dislike because i am neither right now

Yes but this is just a simple yes I use Vista Happily/will in the future or I've tried Vista and don't really see the point/like it over other Os's.

I never had any major issues with Vista other than some Apps not able to run under the x64 version. Love it so far and been running it for about 6months.

Vista 64bit rules.

32bit vista sucks

Was on the phone with my eldest sister last week while she was with the middle sister, my middle sister asked me to fix her XP Compaq with an Atlon X64 in it. Not a bad rig if she had taken care of it. She smokes and never bothered to open the computer to check the damage she was doing. I got a hold of it, cleaned it out and then booted it up. OMG sooooooooooooooo(X23)slow, you have no idea. She packed it with so much junk(think WeatherBug)that a reformat is all I could do. She had no disks for it so I grabbed a copy of OpenSuSe 10.3 since all they do is internet, they don't really need to know how to use Linux.

This is going somewhere I promise.

I was discussing how I don't have an XP disk and I don't really want to put Vista on a PC with 256MB of RAMa. My oldest sister comments how Vista sucks, to which I reply:
"Excuse me? Have you even used it?"
Her: "Well, Rob(my brother-in-law, he was a Comp-Sci Major and Carnegie Mellon now econ.)says people don't like it."
Me:"That's because they haven't even tried it, they heard from this one guy that it wasn't any good and they believe them because they are sheep."
Her: "Oh, well that's just what I heard."

There in lies the dilemma, "It's what I HEARD." No one tries it because some computer-illeterate tool has to act like he has been into computers since Commodore was leading the market and tells people it blows.

Sorry if this seemed like a very long draw out rant, because it basically is...but, things like that just irritate me to no end.

/rant.
