Vista Crysis problem

Thread Starter
I just installed vista last night and I loaded up Crysis, well it's not going so great..... When I play the game everything is all scrambled in game, all the colors, random squares ( I'll get a screenie), but the weirdest thing, when I pull out my secondary weapon the picture comes back and I can see everything perfectly. I switch back to the other weapon that I originally had and the picture gets scrambled again. I have no clue how to fix this, I'm running at all high settings with 2x AA.

If your not running 64bit try that (or I suggest it)

Get another 2 gigs fo ram youll notice a immediate difference with crysis

Check your oc on your vid card if you have one and try it at stock just for checking

Reinstall your vid drivers with a good cleaning of the old ones.

Turn off AA. It kills the game, and it's not really needed. Also, you should lower the OC on the GPU, like madmax suggested. My GTS was 20min ATITool stable, but couldn't get through 10 minutes of Crysis. If none of this works, I'd reinstall Crysis. I had some similiar issues with BF2142 the other day.

first thing i would do is make sure u have the latest video drivers. I had same problem, i updated to latest and still did not work. So i had to try a beta driver and that worked.

Well I don't have the money for a new OS, or 2 gigs of DDR for that matter...... why did you even say this stuff? I didn't complain about my FPS. I can run crysis benchmark and 3dmark06 with my OC. I just installed the latest drivers last night, but like Dominazn said to do i'm going to try the beta. AA isn't needed? what kinda bull is that? when you run at 1440x900 their are jaggies all over the place when you don't have AA, it looks terrible.
dadasalam, I have the 1.1 patch installed, and i'm working on SP1 right now.

Well for one IMO 64bit performs, is more stable, and overall runs better then 32bit vista. ALso if you got the retail version of vista (not sure if you did or not) I believe you can still order the 64bit dvd from microsoft and just pay the shipping, it comes to about $8.50 when I did it and I got it in about 5 working days.

Two more gigs of ram or even one more (2x512) will make your computer jump into a whole new arena when trying to play crysis. Its like the gold old days when you coudl run 2x512 and you were set for gaming but then games started getting more intense and you had to add another gig to the group. Its the same here. When I play crysis on two gigs it was really jumpy and would stall out on me and I had issues. I put in another gig and I would use all of it but about 2.7 or 2.8 got used and it played smooth as could be.
