Did I just mess it all up??

My old rig (Who I gave to my mom) is a P4 with XP Pro. It has two HDD's. A 40GB (D drive) and a 120GB (C drive).

I had XP installed on the 120GBer (C drive) and it only had 5GB's of free space left. I saved what I needed for my new rig (Sig) and installed a fresh XP on the 40GBer (D drive) . To find out after doing so that I had a dual boot..Totally by accident. One on each drive. Cool! Boot up and it asks me which OS I want to boot.

Here's where I have think I F'ed myself. I did a clean install on the 120GBer (C drive) because it was totally screwed up. Filled with errors. Now when I boot up, it automatically boots up to the 120GBer (C drive). I have no options!!?? I rebooted again and F8'ed and still doesn't give me two options to boot from.

Where did my D drive boot go?? I see in My Computer than all the files are still on the D drive.

My mom just did all her taxes on the computer and now I fear they're gone.

Help??????!!

Ok, firstly you need to change the title. Get rid of that crap.

Are you sure they are two physical disks and not partitioned?

Also, did you do a format on the drive ? If so, you might be able to salvage some stuff via recovery program.

Sorry about that. How do I change the topic? I hit edit but can't change it.

Yes. I'm pretty sure there are two HDDs. How can I tell without opening the case?

Yes, I did a format.

To customize how you view your disks and volumes in the upper and lower panes of the window, point to Top or Bottom on the View menu, and then click the view that you want to use.
If you see two disk boxes, there are two hard disk drives. (note, if you have a CD drive, another box will appear)
