overclocking bfg 7900gt oc!!!

Thread Starter
okay so i have just finished overclocking cpu and memory, now i am wanting to do video cards...

my video cards have been having some issues with stability and was wondering if overclocking could fix it???

Memory 256MB GDDR3
>> Core Clock 475MHz (vs. 450MHz standard)
>> Memory Clock 1360MHz (vs. 1320MHz standard)
>> RAMDAC Dual 400MHz

i was thinking a moderate overclock say like 500mhz core clock and 1400mhz memory clock??? and will probably use rivatuner to do this....

and i only have stock cooling now but if i think i will benefit from it i will water cool the cards...

the temps at idle are around 30C-40C and the load is around 50C-60C but have good air flow so i think it could be overclocked....

now if i think i want to overclock more should i use volt mod??? i am just doing this to see how far i get...then i will probably need new cards if i fry these...meaning it gives me an excuse to go buy new bfg 9600gt and if i water cool the other cards i can test out before i switch to the 9600's...

overclocking almost always yields more unstability, especially if your particular hardware isnt stable at stock speeds.
