Well how does that work? Right now i have a 512mb x 2 dual channel kit, and if i take one stick out of the mobo, the damn system freaks out and wont boot...

That's strange - it should boot just fine with a single 512MB stick installed. It'll boot a bit slowly, but it should boot.
