Help w/ OCing E6850

Thread Starter
I just recently got the system that you see below. Now, I've read several posts on the [H] forums that are pretty much step-by-step, detailed guides on how to overclock on my MSI mobo. I've disabled EIST & C1E, spread spectrum & so on. Although no matter how many changes I make to the FSB, I can never boot. Whether I change the voltages, memory timings or if I leave both at stock; it makes absolutely no difference. I can't even get a 100MHz overclock. I know you can obtain at least a 3.5GHz with an E6850. I've tried almost everything, so does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hi! I always set mem-timings to auto, then I ensure that MEM-voltage is set to its rated voltage. After that, you can set the CPU-voltage to 1.35 and see if you then are able to OC 40FSB at a time, as I guess you have quad-pumped rated FSB.

hmm have you managed to post on stock settings, or did you try OC right off the gun? if you oc'ed from start, its possible you have a dead cpu, try leaving settings at stock, and removing few components from your pc like 1 ram stick etc, to find the culprate. If you had another mobo handy that would be gd, as you cud put ur cpu in that and see if it posts.
