Halo takes a different kind of skill, I don't really like it much myself, but while it looks like just another generic shooter it still manages to be totally unique.

And diving is just next version of the bunny hop. Wanna try it? I'll go get a shotgun and you can start diving around and we'll see what happens

One of my biggest problems with gears is that everyone gets wall hacks, I think I might have enjoyed the game better if it first person, like that CoD3 melee sequence. Being able to look completely around a corner or over a wall without fear of getting your head blown off completely ruins it for me.

by skill i mean planning and try to out smart your opponent. seeing who has the better aim or who can pull the trigger (click the mouse) faster in my eyes is not skill.

but again its my opinion so. since i dont have a video cam i cant really take pics or anything. but look at my halo 3 stats on the bungie site. gamer tag is gex80 and you can that i don't really play it that much cause its boring to me. just run around and see who can pull the trigger faster.

halo 3 multiplayer doesn't really have a game mechanic no different then a lot of other shootings. point and shoot. gears add some variety to that by forcing you to use cover in some situations and having you think about whether you should go in close and possible get blown away by a shot gun or staying to far back and getting your head blown off.

in halo you run out into the open and you can kill someone across the map with a BR vs in gears if you tried that with a lancer or hammer burst(for three round burst comparison) you either have to have pretty damn good aim or your lucky as hell. not many people can hit a target across the map with a lancer or hammer burst that is moving and actually kill them.

also another thing halo mainly focuses on is head shots. any gun you get in with halo you always have to aim for the head. while yes common sense is the head is the weakest point, gears mixes that up by say using the shotgun and getting more body shots and the same with the lancer. you can down people alot quicker with body shots in gears with some weapons then others. which goes back to the whole should i go in close, or stay back?

halo you can stay back the whole time with a BR, is it fun? no but getting kills from far away with a BR isnt extremely hard.

but again this is my opinion

Hmm, I say GoW. I like Halo a lot too. But GoW was just too awesome. I can't wait for GoW2. I am starting to get sick of Halo, because that is the only game all my friends like to play. I do like CoD4 a lot though too. Those are probably my 3 favorite games on the Xbox 360. CoD4, GoW, Halo3.

The halo campaign was amazing in the first game, although the halo 2 and halo 3 campaign struggled to keep up with gears of war phenomenal single player game play. But when u look at multiplayer, halo 3 wins hands down. I think allota ppl dont like halo in these forums because its not a computer game, its created and meant to be a console shooter, and is not properly designed for a mouse and keyboard. Where as gow can swing both ways. But in terms of pure fps action, halo3's multiplayer blows everything away
post #76 of 111
i also find that every weapon in halo 3 is unique, and in multiplayer this makes the gameplay a lot more strategic, because you think, should i rush sniper, who has rockets or spartan laser. there is a large variety of guns, and all of them are good in some ways. (plasma pistol is the best gun ever). Also the grenades in halo are better than any game ever created, in gow the nades are kinda lame.

Neither. They are both over rated games with poor storylines.
