P5N32-E Sli flashed to 1403 wont let me flash back to 1203 - Page 2

Sorry to bring up a old thread but I have spent most of today trying to fix this same sort of problem as this , I stupidly updated to 1403 without using Google to check on any problems with it
Well I could no longer overclock , as in it just wouldn't save any settings I tried , so when I tried to flash back to a old version , it wouldn't let me , it just kept saying something about it being older so you couldn't ?

Well after hours of Google searching for a answer I found a forum that a member had posted a Bios that he had been sent via email from asus , it was numbered 1404 , and thats not listed on the asus site , so I was a bit wary to flash this time , but thought wth I'm going for it

Now It's been happily running my slight overclock now for a while and all looks good

So if you want to take the chance then do so , but you do at your own risk , just like I did

Thread Starter
I've upgraded to a new board, since my dad wrecked his old P5N ( northbridge died ) so I gave him my P5N32E. You will probably get better results with bios 1203 ( credits go to Benny99 for this one )

The awdflash.exe is a dos program and you'll want to do the BIOS update from dos off a boot-disk. If you're like me and don't have a floppy drive anymore the attached iso image is a very small dos boot-cd that'll work just fine. Just throw the awdflash.exe and 1203.bin on a thumbdrive and then boot up using the bootcd and execute...

C:awdflash.exe 1203.bin /F

...follow the prompts and you should be golden.
Arjo,

Thanks for the information. I created a boot disc from the image you provided then loaded the flash utility and 1203 bin version of the bios onto my thumb drive. The boot disc took me to dos and an a: but I couldn't navigate to awdflash despite doing DIRs to drives from b-f. I kept getting invalid drive specifications. How can I get access to my thumb drive and how do you know which drive letter it is? Any ideas of if I'm overlooking a step?

Thanks for your help!
