I am a gamer, but with my current setup i cannot do much other that CS1.6 at 40fps and source crashes my computer. I am looking to build a computer that i can possibly expand to other games, and play those that i have. I don't LAN so the weight of the computer, i know its gonna be heavy, is not much of an issue. I currently have a 500GB Western Digital External drive that i am going to keep that is why there is no second (slave) hard drive and I already have a mouse. Any other suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a decent build, but you won't be able to use the full 4GB of RAM unless you get a 64-bit OS. I didn't see a 64-bit XP on Newegg, though, so if you don't mind Vista, get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116215 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116204 . Otherwise, either just get one pack of RAM or buy XP Pro x64 somewhere else.

good build, but I would STRONGLY suggest scrapping the GTX for a GTS(g92) and upgrading the processor to a q6600 with the money you save

and possibly looking into a better power supply, rosewill is kind of an iffy manufacturer... you could probably run that setup with a good quality 650w instead of a 750w skankbox

I always advise against NForce motherboards unless you are going to SLI multiple GPUs. Intel chipsets are less trouble, overclock better, and cost less money.

I recommend the power supply and motherboard from my system highly, and if you have more to spend, the Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 is a good reasonably priced X38 chipset board that probably overclocks somewhat better than my P35 model.

Is there any reason you're sticking with a 65nm dual core? The e8400 and e8500 are probably better performers for the money than the e6850, which is pretty overpriced for a stepping revision of the e6600.

I hear Raptors aren't worth the money, but I don't know anything about it. You could RAID a couple of Seagate 7200's for the price.

I agree about the GTX. I would get an 8800GTS on your budget.

Yah i had looked at the 7200 250GB seagate 3.0 sata but all the reviews i read said that higher rpm would be better than the higher transfer speed (if this is wrong let me know). I decided against the 2.4 quad after reading many reviews and performance specs most influential was http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000942.html . As for the processor i will look into the wolfsdale but apparently they are hard to find. It does look like a better fit for me.
The power supply i need one that will fit for my case I have read that that is the only issue with it. the power supply doesnt fit or the cables dont fit well. If anyone has built an antec p182 case let me know what power supply you have.
I am trying to keep the option of going SLI later if i have the need and the money
Feedback is really helping thanks

I would say get rid of the Raptor and Raid 0 some seagates or western digital.
Get the corsair 750tx.
Get e8400.
//Get 4gbs of memory instead, probably the GSkills are good, since crucial cost more. (out of my head and my memory) (would be better)
Go with window xp pro 64 bit.
evga 8800GTS Gp2.

Other than that, everything looks good to me.

Get a SILVERSTONE SST-ST60F ATX 12V 2.01 & EPS 12V 600W (same as in my rig)
instead of that rosewell

you should try and get a wolfedale if you can, as those are 45nm and better than 65nm, maybe an 8400?

Rest looks good, and if you go with a GTX you wont be upgrading for a while as the 9800GTX has trouble keeping up. Though you could go with a cheaper(intel) mobo and get an HD3870x2 if you wanted.. those are amazing cards

Good luck with your build

well I would suggest you to go with the Q6600 G0 stepping (which are most of them by now) it is better for the fact that it is somewhat future proofing...If not that then a 45nm would definitely be better like an E8400. next I would tell you to scrap the 8800GTX because it is old technology compared to the new 8800GT/GTS I would suggest going dual 8800GT if you want to go SLI right now if not you can buy the 8800Gt now from EVGA and then step up to a 9 series Geforce and SLI that. no use spending over 400 dollars on a video card when you can get just as good graphics from something for around 230-260

Looks like nice solid rig, just look for another PSU like others have mentioned, and you'll be good. That's a nice LCD btw

Wolfdale CPUs aren't as rare as they were for a few weeks after release.

That said, if you can wait a little while there will probably be a change that fixes some temperature diode issues. Mine is OK (I think) but a lot of people have stuck cores in temp reading apps.

I take it from the Arctic Silver that you're planning on OCing the rig. If not, you can probably find an e6750 somewhere that is pretty good at stock for not much money.
