Realtek HD vs Sound Blaster

Thread Starter
Hello.
Recently i've bought a new rig , and new mobo ofcourse which had this Realtek HD Audio on it .
I also had my old Soundblaster and i've put it in my new rig ..
So now i'm wondering which one of these soundcards would produce better sound quality , eax , gaming effects ?
I've heard that Realtek HD is even better than SB's X-Fi's , which is stunning to me
Card specs :
Creative Audigy SE (SB0570) Sound Card
and
Realtek ALC888/S/T @ ATI SB600 - High Definition Audio Controller

Thanks for any advise!

Who the crud told you that Realtek is better than an Xfi?

The Audigy I believe is going to be a tad better than the onboard, still it's no large feat. It's like comparing an orange to a tangerine, and an X-fi being a mutant overgrown watermelon.

I don't have a X-Fi but my Audigy 4 sounds so much better than onboard. I used to be skeptical about it...didn't care much for sound until recently. The difference is very noticeable to me.

Whoever suggested onboard audio HD or otherwise was better than an X-fi needs to read up on a little more I think.
alot of people say the x-fi extreme audio is just a little better than ondoard the rest of the x-fi will destroy the onboard
post #10 of 10
Even Audigy SE will prevail over crap onboard!
