OCing e8400 (core stuck) - Page 2

I guess I'm hesitant, because I'm worried to get those that show ludicrous high temps in the core. Is there anyone that has a normal e8400???

I'm stressing with Prime95 right now, trying to test my overclock to 3.75Ghz. So far stable at 5hrs, and looks like my Core Temps "UNSTUCK", lol. Core #0: 53C, Core#1: 54C. Maybe, its because as the author says "The DTS does not output temperature data that is linear to the actual core temperature across the entire operating range of the processor"

Yay! I guess.

the e8400's have faulty dts's. There's no way to get an accurate temp due to that reason. Sorry man you are stuck with those results. Just don't worry about it.

I,am having the exact same problem overlocking blind, my temps don't move both cores are at 33degrees I'am running water-cooling so i really don't have to worry about temps but it would be good to know what temps I.m getting
Cpu at 4.41Ghz 1.53volts

**** dude!

Lower your vCore!

Unless you want to kill your CPU in 7 day that is...

You don't want to run a 45nm over 1,36v for 24/7 usage even if you are on H2O.

1.53 volts? That isn't a 65nm chip!

The 45nm chips are fairly new on the market so with all the hype MB companies are producing new boards like always to keep up with technology and the competition. This means that some boards that "we" consider current can be overlooked until enough complaints come in and force bios revisions. I have read not only my board but other people posting about fixes being made about these e8xxx temps being read by the system monitors. It may or may not help but you can always check your MB makers site and see if there is a bios update to fix your issues.
