Q6600 Coretemps? Too High???

Thread Starter
I just bought an Arctic Freezer 7 because my stock temps reported in the bios pc health section were 42c, coretemp was reporting 42c - 47c through out the 4 cores and speedfan was reporting 38c - 43c through out the 4 cores. I installed this cooler and my pc health reading in bios dropped down to 30c - 32c but coretemp is still reporting 42c - 47c and speedfan is reporting 28c - 32c. Is coretemp wrong why did speedfan and bios temps drop but coretemp did not? By the way these are idle temps

core temp is right, speed fan and bios calculate your temp differently. Core temp is the one you should be relying on. And also those temps arnt bad...a little high if you wanna OC but also your load temps is what you should be worried about. Do you keep your PC idled all day?
