[Investors] Microsoft's Gamble With Xbox Business Has Turned Corner - Page 3

The ONLY reason Xbox 1 did horrible when MS decided to release a gaming console was most of the game developers had signed exclusivity rights with the PS2. Thus, MS lacked the variety of games versus the PS2.

Given the popularity of the Xbox and 360, game developers aren't signing those agreements as easily, thus negating Sony's huge advantage last time.

There really is no other reason, thats the facts as they say.

I am a xbox fanboy myself. I always root for the underdog. I'm very happy with how well the 360 has done so far. Now if only square wouldn't have made the next FF on the PS3... darnit all to heck and back...

EDIT: Since bluray won the format war, and considering the price of the PS3, I guess I'll have to pick one up since I need a high def player. At least I'll get to play FF....

Yes but why are you going to want to buy a 360, and then a BluRay player on top of it all...In the end it's just better and cheaper to buy a PS3.

Ya MGS is an exception where huge games are concerned. Oblivion was huge and they released expantions packs that fit on the hard drive. And your right they do use standard dvd's and multiple dvd games are coming out. One I have bought is Lost Odyssey. Which is full of great cut scenes and awsome graphics, gameplay and story. And it came on 4 DVD's which was mostly cutscenes. The 360 games may be starting to fill up DVD's but I dont see that as any kind of a problem, I mean they fit GTA4 on one dvd. The 50 gig Blue Ray just means that games such as FF13 will be able to be put on a single disk, and no disk swaping diesnt mean that the game will me high quality or playable.

With the price of games, i prefer to read the reviews or hear my friends talk about a game so that i know its good. WOrd of mouth is the most powerfull advertizer for me. And all my friends say that they have PS3's that just sit around gathering dust. I mean its been a year now and the ps3 is JUST NOW starting to catch up? I mean come on the 360 had tones of games by this time in its life cycle.
Yea, it's ok now...but what about 1 year from now? The games will probably be a lot bigger than today...

the reason the xbox did alot worse is because it came in too late after the PS2, and then directly after the Xbox came the Gamecube. Then comes what you said - they didnt have any game devs for the xbox.

Thats basically what is happening to the PS3. Its getting a taste of what M$ did with the original Xbox.

BTW - if you root for the underdogg, then right now the PS3 is the underdogg. LOL, so idk why you said that, maybe for the original xbox yes but not the 360.

360 has a lot of exclusives and so does the ps3. FYI: I consider games that get ported to PC 360 exclusive. Hard to justfify that, but it was meant for 360 in the first place.
