bfg 9600 gt ko is a piece of junk - Page 4

i think we will have proper solid proof within the next few days/weeks. some people have contacted BFG and they say its firmware and there working on it already.

see if underclocking the card back to stock helps. it did for me. but i didnt pay for stock so i sent it back.

I dont have any solid proof at the moment, but something must have been up for them to push back the release dates of these cards? what you think?

n e ways I will be getting a report back from the company i bought my card from soon. once theyve tested it to see whats wrong for definit i will post back.

for now though dont bother getting those new power supplies

I'm waiting for my EVGA SSC as we speak. Mine would keep shutting off after 5 minutes of playing CSS or HL2. I went as far as to reinstall windows and it still does it. I have a Corsair hx620, e8400 and 2gb crucial ballistix 800mhz

correction....it just got here i'll post back later tonight and see what happens.

cool. make sure you post back. i went down the same road of reinstalling windows and it didnt help. if your second one plays up ill go for a zotac 9600gt amp as ive been searching the net and there seems to be no complaints about it.

so did your pc restart after your monitor went to standby mode during gameplay? cos mine did, and i couldnt shut down my pc from windows either.

man i miss playing COD4 and battlefield 2142

I would try either the 169.44 drivers off of the Apple website, or the 174.16 drivers from XTreme-G at www.tweakforce.com. I'm using them right now and they're fantastic.

dont it suck!!! thats all i can say!

RMA is the best thing to do. its all been EVGA and BFG, and my Palit. so far not herd any problems from MSI, Zotac or XFX or Bigabyte for that matter.

So far my Galaxy built 9600 has been flawless!

http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/02/...gt/page19.html

Tom says they were able to OC the vanilla 9600GT to 768/1020. I just slapped those numbers in nVidia CP and got a stable OC on my Inno3D vanilla 9600GT with no problems.

My PSU is just an Enermax 450W (measured at 416W according to the retailer) with a 33A +12V rail. I'm surprised that it can handle my overclocked proc and video card.

I lost a lot of respect for Inno3d during the GeForce 5 era. I kind of feel guilty now.
