Vista Desktop Manager instability

Thread Starter
While running Prime95 at high OCs I occassionally have the screen flicker for a second and then get an error that Windows Desktop Manager has failed. Prime95 stays stable, and MemTest runs stable. It is obvious that the system isn't stable because I only get this error at high OCs. Does anyone know what might fix this? More VCore, NB, HT voltage?

Might just be happening when you have high OCs by bad luck.

Screen flickering/Nvidia driver not responding was a very common problem. Make sure you are running 169.25 drivers or later, and see if it goes away.

I've found that memtest doesn't do all that good of job at testing ram. I've had alot of memtest stable ram that fails at doing windows tasks. If the above doesn't fix it then try lowering ram to stock.

I got the same problem when my voltages were off. Plus the sidebar would crash, etc.

I do have the newest drivers. I guess it is good to hear that others have had it as well.

What is the best way to test RAM if MemTest isn't catching everything?

Well Mark you're using a Striker, so serves you right! lol... The entire Striker brethren need to be whipped off the planet...

I still say it's voltage related...

I agree. When I back it down from 1700fsb to 1666fsb I become stable again. Just need to find out which voltage it is, I've been backing down the VCore a bit and still stable so I don't think it is that.
