Updated- New Build... Rate and Crit

Thread Starter
UPDATED!
MoBo Changed
PSU Changed
Processor Changed
DVD Changed

I got rid of the Case and Monitor, because I don't know what I want for those yet...
I would get the e8400, but it seems to be out of stock... But I'll put it in the list... Should be in stock when I buy my computer.

Anyways, I am getting money from the Tips of my first job, from my Photoshop job, and from Tax rebates.... YAY! So it will be a while...
This is the build I will be buying in the middle of the summer. It will change as new stuff comes out, but I think that the basics will stay the same. How does it look>?

Looks good. A good 550W PSU should be fine. How about Corsair 550VX? It is about $80 at egg. May think about to get e8400 for extra $40. Need to pick 680i or 780i board for SLI. How about this Evga 780i A1 if you plan to upgrade to 45nm quad. Otherwise, Evga 680i A1 should be fine.

You're planning to run 2 8800gt s right? If so, why do you have a x38 board. Don't you need a mobo that supports SLI like a 680i or 780i?

I think Linskingdom is right on the money, but I would probably get a psu with more than 550w, just to be safe.

You need an SLI motherboard. Other than that, I would look into another PSU.

Change the power supply out for a better brand. Up the processor to an e8400. (If you don't have money, get a Gigabyte DS3R instead for a mobo. It'll save you some cash).

I recomend a 680i board - you choose one
and a more known brand of PSU 580 - 700w is fine.

change motherboard to evga 780i and power supply to corsair hx620 and its damn near perfect.

I would also opt for another 40 bucks or so and get either a q6600, or an e8400.

I see 2 things- pay another $15 and get a DVD burner, not just a rom drive- you will thank yourself later.

Also, a bigger hard drive may be nice- getting a 500 GB one (tripling your storage space) would only cost ~100$ more.
