Returning 8800GT - Am i in the right? - Page 6

Unfortunately it's not the first time something like thi has happened to me with scan, i live locally so i use their counter sales an awful lot, as if it's not bad enough, paying for an item and waiting 20mins for the pickers to get it out, half the time they come out and say, 'errr its showing we have 20 in stock.... but we can't find them' it's a joke! happened just a few days ago when i went for my T.R.U.E, and yet still i called them today to ask if they were back in and they say not until april, and yet they still show them as in stock for all the poor buggers ordering online!!

aria pc in manchester starts to look more and more sweeter, especially seen as they are like for like on virtually every component....

You want a bad cooler? I wish my Palit was the two slot cooler. The Pailt card is great because they used their own power scheme for better overclocking. Keep it it's a great card.

The GPU temperature is ok but the RAM temp gets really hot, so @Stock speeds im better off just having the card i ordered and whack the stock fan up from 25% to 50% until i plan on gettin different cooling for my components

I shall ring OCUK and post the outcome - Thankyou to all who have posted their input, feelings and opinions in this thread

If you ordered the reference card and got the Palit card then you're in the right......to those who say performance over looks....that isn't the question. The question is if he's right on returning the card because he got a different one that is shown.......not to mention that it has a cheap cooler that dumps the hot air back in the case.....

I worked hard to earn the money to buy a decent quality dual core processor, and i am proud of how my hard work has helped me to afford the parts to build my own performance gaming comp for a decent price

Thats where the pride is, doing it all on my own and having a sense of achievement at the end of it all no matter what company or spec of my components, i have built what i see to be my personal perfection, isnt that what we all do here?

And Meecrob, you have a major AMD component in your system also ^.^ Share the love

Spoke to OCUK Just now, they are happy to have it refunded

Waited for about 3 minutes, which wasnt too bad, the guy was helpful n knew what he was talking about

They used to sell the card as shown as in the picture, but their supplier changed and now they have to rely on other sources

He said that return it with what it came with, with the RMA number on the box and he'll be happy to refund the cost of return delivery also

Excellent

I plan on buying on the EVGA 8800GT

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...56&subcat=1008

I shall buy from OCUK again, as they have been helpful with this matter and its not really their fault if the supplier cut them off, though i do think they should have displayed in the page that the card in picture may not be the one recieved

Yeah go ahead and ring them. Its perfectly justified. Its false advertising. PURE AND SIMPLE.

Glad you got a good result !

Excellent news. Are they refunding you, and then your going to buy from them or are they just asking you to pay the difference in price and return your card?
