CCC Won't run

Hey all

I have Windows Vista 32-bit with the Beta of SP 1 installed on my CPU currently. CCC however hasn't worked/opened since roughly October's drivers, whichever version it is.

I haven't experienced any problems in games, however I still want my CCC to at least open so I may tweak stuff if I feel like it. It is enabled in my msconfig startup menu, but it doesn't run or show up on the taskbar when my computer boots up. Also, when I click the icon to run CCC in the folder, or my start menu, the program doesn't open at all. When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL, it does not show up in one of the running processes windows. When I go to open it I get absolutely no indication of it that it is opening or open anywhere at all.

I just installed the new 8.3 drivers, and I am having the same issue. As I stated, I have no issues with FPS or performance otherwise, but want my CCC to at least run.

TY

O.k. first do you have th microsoft framework program installed? If not it's here.

Next download drive cleaner pro and run it like this.
Download latest driver, but don't install it yet.
Run drive cleaner pro, restart.
Run drive cleaner pro again, restart.
Then install new driver and restart again.
If that doesn't work try installing in safe mode after running drive cleaner pro twice.

Ok, yes I have .Net framework 3.0 installed and everything is fully up to date.

I did exactly what you said and I still have the exact same issue. However, now the installer won't install CCC at all, whenever I go to find the folder now it's not there and when I click the shortcuts it says they have been removed, yet I just installed it. When I run the installer, it says "Catalyst Control Center is already installed and up to date".

EDIT: I just ran the uninstaller, and I get an error when I try to uninstall Catalyst Control Center through there... Here's a copy of the log:

Second Edit: I just completed the uninstall with DCP fo ra second time and did what you said again, this time it appears as if the installer fully installed CCC on my computer as it normally should, but the same problem remains.

I had a similiar problem but what I did to fix it is ran Driver Cleaner Pro, restarted, did Driver Cleaner Pro again, restarted, then I went into Windows Add/Remove Programs and removed it there. Then I restarted and installed the 8.3 package, my problem now is when it loads up it says it has a hosting error, I have the .Net Framework 3.5 so I am up to date. So you will probably run into the same problem.

Tried that, got the exact same thing... CCC just doesn't want to run. I'm starting to think it's the SP 1 beta maybe. But I just can't be sure.

Try running Windows Installer cleanup utility. I had a problem installing CCC the 1st time I installed it and when uninstalling I used this instead of DCP.

Last time I could not get the CCC working was because of some spyware. I guess they were messing with the registry or something, because after I removed them with Spybot and re-installed the drivers, CCC started working again.

I used to have problems with CCC. Then I plugged in the 8-pin connector >_>

If you read my post you'd realize that I already stated it HAD been working in the past since I got the card up until a few months ago at random. So it can't be the 8-pin connector.
