If i get another lockup in a game, i'll know something is up. And if that does happen, i'll be lost again as to whats causing it
yeah. spose our CPU's are way different anyway, and those E8400's are meant to be monsters for overclocking.

i'll let ya know if i find anything else out, feel free to do the same. all i really need to know is what stock bridge volts i have.

Will do.

I just went to run 3dmark05 at my 24/7 clocks.. as soon as it loaded firefly forest, it froze. I hit the reset button, on POST it said "MAIN BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR RECOVERING"

Now im scared to try 3dmark05 again!!!

lol i've had that auto bios recovery thing sooo many times now haha. cant remember how many times i've reset the CMOS.

yeah 3dmark05 is a ***ch to get stable for some reason. when i had 3.9ghz on my XFX board, it was the only 3dmark bench i couldnt stabalise.

for me, when the firefly forest froze, it was usually the graphics card, not the CPU. i used to have SLI though, so freezing when overclocking was common. Crossfire i imagine, would be the same.

nice.

yeah i really like the X2, except it creates a large bottleneck, needs the quad to be over 3ghz at least. and so far i havnt been too successful, 3ghz is easy, trying for 3.5 or 3.6 24/7 stable. once i have that, i'll venture towards 4ghz, i know my chip can do it.

i've swapped over from an SLI GTX setup, so its very different for me. to be honest, you can really tell the difference in image quality. colours seem much stronger with Nvidia cards, but something about ATI makes the graphics look more..real? i dunno. like COD4 in my opinion looks much better on the X2.

ok i FINALLY sussed out this board. it loves its stock volts, i only need to play with the Vcore.

FYI, the SB stock voltage is 1.5v, so im betting the NB is 1.35v as per most motherboards.

anyway so far, at all stock volts, with 1.35vcore, im in at a stable 24/7 3.4ghz. not my highest, but im getting somewhere now.

@ 3.4ghz, in Vista, i got 17,409 with stock vid card.

thats more than my GTX SLI setup got @ 3.6ghz.
