should i get a new 3870x2 or a sli motherboard and another 8800gt?

I'd get the 3870X2 if I had the cash. You will definitely want to overclock your CPU higher as the 3Ghz 4300 will be a severe bottleneck in both cases.

you wont need a new mobo for a while..... 3870x2 is a worthwhile upgrade, but an 8800gt isn't that bad either.... I would save the money

I have a Q6600 go now, that i have OCed to 3.6 stable. i was just to lazy to change it

If I were you, then I would go with the 3870x2 or wait for the newer cards from Nvidia to be released.
