ok, i've weeded out some other things in my budget build and now it's motherboard time. i'll be getting a quad, more than likely, so i need 1 of these 2 for juicing my quad (sounds kinda funny doesnt it?) up. i mean the abit is a freakin steal at $59 after MIR, but the giga has all solid caps right? which board would make a quad oc moreso of a breeze (i'll prob do the vmod), have less issues, and have a nice high fsb count?

anyone have any clocks on a quad specifically on these 2 boards? i'll be cooling this board with nice air (i have a good amount of fans) + a true h/s. i'll be doing my part, i want to make sure my new motherboard won't let me and my quad down.

thanks

Well since Abit and Gigabyte both make like, 9879768958 mobo's... it would be nice if stated which ones in particular.

For OC'ing a Q4, look for a mobo with an 8 phase power design.. not 4 phase. The extra 4 phases will give you the stability you need to hold the vcore in place under a heavy OC and load.

DFI Infinity 965-S has such a layout and is an outstanding OC'r capable of hitting over 500mhz FSB. It supports Q4's, C2D's, C2's, PD's and P4's.. but doesn't support 1333mhz FSB.
